Aunt Deena’s Tangy Coleslaw

Great accompaniment for fish, chicken, meat, tempeh, veggie patties, falafel, and dare I say…hot dogs.

Aunt Dina’s Tangy Coleslaw

Thanks to our dearest, Aunt Dina, we have been enjoying this easy slaw for many years.


  • 5 Cups grated cabbage ( or just slice thin)
  • 2 Carrots - grated
  • 2 Green Peppers diced
  • 1/2 Cup Celery sliced thin
  • 2 or more Scallions
  • 1 Small bunch of fresh Parsley chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Distilled Vinegar
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 TBSP Honey
  • Pinch of Salt


  • Add marinade ingredients in a jar and shake well. Taste and adjust the seasoning. If you like it a bit sweeter add a bit more honey.
  • After Vegetables are cut - pour the marinade and blend well.
  • Flavors blend well over time.
  • Will last a few days.
